If you haven't checked out this song yet you got to, it rules and the album is going to be great I'm sure. Amazing tune. It features a cool sax solo by Adam Carrillo and I thought it would be fun to replicate on the guitar. Slowed down playthrough at the end! Thanks for watching as always. Ry

Shit is deceivingly difficult. I've never been one to use the tremelo bar or tap arpeggios so I don't practice that stuff often, and of course McKinney is a master at playing like that. Outro line is tricky, kinda missed it, but you get the idea. New ZP album "Datalysium" absolutely crushes by the way go check it out. Learned by ear, played in E Standard. If you're interested in learning songs ...

Very excited for new ZP music. This single came out today and it has a cool fusiony solo with some tricky lines. Justin McKinney rules. I am playing this in E Standard. Most of ZP's music is written using Dropped C tuning. Don't have tabs but could do a lesson if there is enough interest! ALSO: I reactivated my gig on Fiverr.com where I can transcribe solos/riffs and help you guys learn anythin...

Quick take on the solo, not as clean as I'd like it to be but whaddyagonnado. I'm playing this in standard, no tabs sorry. Ry

Quick Tutorials | Animals as Leaders - Monomyth (Chorus Lead)
Переглядів 1,7 тис.2 роки тому
Disclaimer - this one is played with a 7 or 8 string to reach that low note, though I'm sure you could get away with playing most of the riff with a 6. The phrase repeats a second time, the only difference being that the second time begins on the 8th fret of the low B string as opposed to the 10th fret of the A string (one octave lower). Ry
Thumping Pattern Tutorial #7 | Animals as Leaders - Monomyth

Alright, this one's a doozey. Riff appears around 1:29 in the song. If D=down thumb; U=up thumb; 1=index; 2=middle; *=dead note, the pattern is as follows: A, B, B, A, A, C (x2), where; A = DU*1* DU*1*2*3* B = DU*1* DU*1* DU*1*2*3* C = DU*1* DU*1* DU*1*2* Cheers, let me know if there are any questions/suggestions for videos! Cant wait for the next part , thank you so much , it rocks !
nice video my G
I have Charvel DK24 HSS like you, but I'm thinking about selling it to get a Strandberg Essential, but I'm unable to try one in person. Which one do you prefer of the two? My fat fingers are little worried about the smaller string spacing of Strandberg. That's one of the things I like about the Charvels. Do you notice a difference?
I don't think I have very fat fingers so I can't relate too much to that part, but for me they're both great. I'm loving the Strandberg a lot, and that could be recency bias, but it does play really easily and is very comfortable on the body and left hand. I've had mine for about a month, and I know now which guitar to pick up depending on what I'm playing. The Strandberg definitely suits rounder sounds and I would pick it up for heavy distortion tones or smooth jazzy cleans. The Charvel I really like for its split coils, it has much more personality in pickup positions 2 and 4 than the Strandberg does. I think the Charvel overall has more expressive and dynamic pickups right now, but those are just the pickups. I'm using the stock pickups in both guitars, so that could be easily changeable if you wanted. The Strandberg is super light, mine is just about 5lbs, and that took some getting used to (and made the Charvel feel bigger and heavier at first), but now that I've had it for some time I really value how lightweight and "small" it feels without feeling lacking. Long story short, I love both, I'm glad I have both. If it's within your means to keep your charvel and save up for an Essential I think you'd like the balance they give each other too. Hope this helps.
@@chicken6111 Thank you for such a detailed reply! You seem to like the same type of music that I do, and we play a lot of the same stuff - so I very much value your input. 👍🏻 I love my Charvel! It’s the best guitar I’ve ever owned, and I want to keep it! But the weight, specs and ergonomics of the Strandberg is so tempting…😅 I have a lot of tendinitis, and I do a lot of legato and tapping; so I’m trying to find the best way to play with the least amount of strain on the left arm. The Strandbergs seem perfect in many ways…but playing Chon / Polyphia chords when you have thick fingers is hard if there is not enough string space…🫠
@@Indiegaze If ergonomics is something that's important to you then definitely grab one man! Strandberg is for sure the best at it in terms of guitars that are commercially available. I love my charvel too, i'd get another even. But by the sounds of it a strandberg is something you gotta grab some day! Best of luck to you, and let me know!
Still using the Yamaha THR?
No I actually have gear now! Fender blues amp, abasi pathos and horizon clarity compressor pedals
